only a 7 day suspension?

After Metta World Peace elbowed James Harden in the head giving him a concussion and 48 hours of pain it's time for worldpeace to suffer with only 7 day suspension and no pay. For those watching the game or looking at the clips after Metta could not pass this on as his way of celebrating. Clearly he knew what he was doing and you know after you hit something you look behind you as a normal reaction to see what you hit and Metta didn't even slighty turn his head. Metta has gone a few seasons with no problems but why the sudden turn around?

Teams in jeopardy in playoffs because of injuries

We have seen plenty of injuries this season but right now they seem to be piling up. Miami Heats Dwyane Wade was out Monday night with a right ankle injury that has sidelined him a couple of times. Forward Shane Battier with a neck and back injury. New Jersey Nets Deron Willams also missed the game with a right calf injury. His backup Jordan Farmar was out with a groin injury also on Monday. Timberwolves Kevin Love has been out with a head injury and has missed four straight games after getting the head injury in a game at Denver on April 11. Kevin Love isn’t the only one out right right for the timberwolves, Point guard Ricky Rubio is out with torn ligaments in his left knee and center Nikola Pekovic with ankle, guard Luke Ridnour also ankle, guard JJ Barea groin injury and forward Michael Beasley toe. They all have missed time as the team's season has become broken up. The Lakers Kobe Bryant has been out  with  a shin injury and the Lakers are 4-1 with out him.The Chicago bulls have been on and off with derrick rose, he recently just came back after sitting out for 14 straight games and sat out again after his first injury. Orlando majic Dwight Howard was diagnosed with a herniated disk in his back and won't be returning anytime soon. New york knicks jeremy lin aka "linsanity" wont be returning anytime soon with a torn meniscus. With a couple of definite star players out for the playoffs you can't help to wonder when are the other players going to return and is there gonna be anymore injuries during the playoffs.

Derrick Rose returns to the Bulls

Derrick Rose finally returned to the Bulls on Easter Sunday to play against the New York Knicks. Unfortunately the Bulls lost by 1 point in over time, the final score being 99-100. How did Rose play? Not bad with 29pts, 6reb, 4ast, 1stl, 1blk and 8TO. There were a couple of passes and shots taken that had you thinking where was that going from Derrick but besides that his energy on the court was as usual. Most of his high energy runs to the hoop were shot down, Rose was still able to score 29 pts.It was a good first game for Rose even though it was a loss for him and the team. Being only one game so far I think we can all agree that Derrick Roses game hasn't changed and his MVP title shouldn't be questioned. With the Chicago Bulls and New York Knicks playing back to back games lets see if the Bulls can redeem themselves on Tuesday.

Chicago Bulls success without Derrick Rose

Chicago Bulls Derrick Rose, the 2011 MVP has been out for 22 of 56 games this season so far. Many are shocked that the Bulls are 15-7 without the MVP and have the best record in the league right now. Some are asking how are the bulls doing so well without their best player. How can the Bulls not be doing good? With center Joakim Noah averaging 10 pts., 9.8 reb and 1.9 ast. Playing against the Nets Noah had 13 points, 13 rebounds and 10 assists for the first triple-double by a Chicago center in roughly 35 years. It has been all about record breaking this season for the bulls. With the best record in the league right now with 43-13 that’s pretty impressive. With Noah and Boozer finally working good together the whole bulls team just seems to fall into place they all work good together.  Derrick Rose shouldn’t be shunned for his MVP title, the bull’s success without him and the bulls shouldn’t be doubted so much. When Derrick plays he definitely proves himself on the court averaging 22.9 pts., 3.5 reb and 8.0 ast. He’s still a great player and a great addition to the Bulls and when he returns he will remind you of how great of a player he is and that he truly did deserve the 2011 MVP title.

Jerseys with ads

In may the NBA’s board of governors will meet to discuss the topic of allowing advertising on NBA jerseys. If allowed it will happen sooner than you think and players will wear advertisements. It’s said that it could bring in 31.8 million in ad revenue from just TV exposure alone. Most owner’s im sure will have no problem with it, who doesn't want to make some more money? Owner of the Dallas Mavericks Mark Cuban who is vocally lobbying to get ads on jerseys in the NBA, Cuban said “if somebody offers us 25 million it’s done, we just have to work out the split with all the teams so everybody gets the benefits”. For us the fans it does nothing and I for one wouldn't care to see my Chicago bulls sporting ads on their jerseys, it takes away from them. Pistons Kyle Singler is sporting an ad in Spain’s ACB league for Mmt Seguros a Spanish insurance company. In a recent article in the Detroit news Dirk Nowitizki said “I think we all understand the NBA, by now one of the biggest businesses in the world and if that's a business decision I don't think it's a bad one”. I shouldn't be so shocked but i find it ridiculous that all everyone cares about is money; I would pass up the money to keep the classic jerseys. What do we as the fans get for the ads, nothing. Are the ads going to look like the ones in the euro league or are they going to be small and simple.Doubtful, knowing some company's that will most likely be advertising they will have big colorful ads so all you do is focus on the ad. You won't find me buying one of those jerseys with the ads on them; I better go and stock up now before the jerseys with ads come out.
